Bull Bar / Light Bar Questions??

Thinking about a Bull Bar or some type of light bar for Ole Smokey. Bar will be black, just need some guidance on types and possible light combinations that I could use. Would like to have 3 lights, but I may just go with 2. Also if you have any pics of a black bull bar on yours post up. Still kinda on the fence right now.

I have always liked the look of the Westin Bull bar but in black.

I personally wonder how substantial "bull bars" in general are. Would a front impact with a bull bar equiped truck result in more damage to the hood and internals versus a similar crash impact on a truck without the b-bar? I'm concerned that without upper support, the b-bar would be forced back into the hood and do additional damage.

Probably no way to ensure less damage unless the upper frame of the b-bar were braced into a roll cage assy.

For sure it provides a nice mounting point for the add-on lights. I've seen some interesting mounts for the lights behind the grille. I like this approach; but then, its well known that I prefer a sleeker look to my ride and I don't do off-road unless I happen to pull onto a dirt shoulder.

yup red, those bull bars do more damage then prevent. not to mention they're weak as tinsel steel. just ask SDtitan how weak they are. he used to have a black bull bar.

ttam, there's a light bar that is pretty simple for the titan. let me see if i can find it.

if you're only going to go with two lights be sure to spend the cash for 2 HID lights... preferably a 7", 8" or 9" round HID light. they'll turn night into day for when you REALLY need it. worth the investment my friend.

Well ended up pulling the trigger on a bull bar and the auxillary lights. Ended up getting the Aries SS Bull Bar and a set of Warn wireless driving lights.

Bull Bar: Clicky

Driving Lights: Click me

Ended up getting the whole shebang from Amazon for $360. Supposed to deliver around the 23rd. Hopefully I can get them put on that weekend. I'll post before and after pics.

Be very sure to run the lights from the battery and only use the installed headlight wires for the relay coil power. Adding two more 55W bulbs to the stock circuit will over heat the wiring circuit. Trust me on this; I have experience

Good luck on your install.
