A/T Tires and Wheels

So what do you guys think of these wheels. I have an 07 CC 4X4 SE with 18" factory wheels on now. I ordered the DR coilovers for the front and dr shocks for the rear. I'm thinking of the 18X9 with 285/65/18 or 20X10 with 305/55/20. The reasoning for these particular rim sizes is because this is all the manufacturer offers on these wheels.

I agree with Shifty...if your going to be doing any off roading the smaller the wheel with more meat the better. I always felt if your not going for the bling or show...get 17". There are tons of wheel and tires choices in the 17" size and it will also be easier on the money too!

Shifty let me clear this up a little. This paticular manufacturer offers the following sizes on this wheel
15X8, 16X8, 16X10, 17X8, 17X9, 18X9 and 20X10
5 & 6 lug with negative, low and medium offset.
Finish - Chrome and Black machine.

Polar, I agree with you on the meat. I'm looking for a happy medium. This is what I'm looking into now , replacement cost on tires. Maybee some of you guys can post cost on your tire purchases.

17"
18"
20"

Please state tire manufacturer, size and cost.

Helo Maxx 6 wheels look good, slightly Goth. Saw them on a lfted Chevy.

They have 17x8 and 17x9 Helo Maxx 6 at this place:
Helo Wheels For Less

Best tire sizes for leveled or DR lifted Titans, in 17" wheels, and a couple of example tires:

P285/70/17 (Passenger rated tires. Same as the OEM off road pkg. size. Lighter and therefore better gas mileage).
  • Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo. (43 lbs.)
LT285/70/17 (LT handle more load, but only at maximum inflation. Tougher for offroad and many made for running "aired down".
  • BFG AT KO (58 lbs. 32.8") $920 w/mnt., LT bal. & rot. Discount - America's Tire. On my OEM Off Road Pkg. rims.
  • BFG MT KM (50 lbs. 33") My new favorite, about 25 lbs. less than the Toyo MT 33.5" below!!!
LT295/70/17
  • Nitto Grappler AT (33.3")
  • Toyo MT (~ 75 lbs. 33.5") Probably the best for jumping on a 4" Performance Pkg.
LT305/65/17
  • BFG AT KO (63 lbs. 33.7") E-Rated
LT305/70/17
  • Nitto Grappler AT (34") E-Rated, and highest load capacity, 3640 lbs.

Notes:
  1. With aftermarket rims that are wider than OEM, and/or have less than 5.5" backspacing, the pinch weld mod might be required.
I've read about this with the Moto Metal 951 with its 4.5" backspacing and 9" width. First on a leveled Titan with LT295 Nitto T.G. and again on a 6" lifted Titan with 35x12.5 BFG MT.
  2. With stock suspension, (no level/lift), and the Off Road or XE rims the P285, LT285, and probably the LT295 Terra Grappler will work.
Link to a large pic of my Titan leveled with the DR coilovers.

I got mine a couple of years ago..yeah....a couple of years now. I'm always traveling for work so I don't get to drive my Titan all of the time. Anyways, I bought my wheels and tires from 4 wheel parts. Not the best group but they do have some pretty good specials at times. 4 BFG T/A, LT315/70R17 for about $@210.00ea and 4 AR Teflon Chambers for $???, can't remember but 4WheelParts is having a sale on wheels now.

Good Luck!
