You first have to figure out your application. Even a rad looking 8" lift with 37s and bling/chrome rims isn't stupid if your goal is to look good, and not do much off road or commuting.
Some people will run a 31" tire to make the gearing lower for quick off the line performance, while others have to have the biggest possible diameter.
If you name your model, application, if fuel economy matters, budget ... then I as well as a few others here can advise you, and nobody needs to worry about calling BS.
For example, for off road, in general a 6 to 8" lift is not the best choice, but for crossing deep creeks it will be better than a Long Travel (LT) desert racer ... prerunner. Many provide equal or less ground clearance but raise body panels out of harms way. Off road to some means a gravel road at 20mph, to others sand dunes, mud pits, ice fields, and still others precision rock crawling.
I think there are enough knowledgeable members here to come to a consensus for anyone's Titan if we look at intended application and budget. We all have our biases, but can be reasonable.
