Non Whisteling Throttle body Spacer

Now that I found one that isn't suppose to whistle I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with these and do they really work. I understand the principle behind them and actually see where the could work in theory but having an engineering background I also know that theory and fact can be worlds apart.

Squid, as always, I'm skeptical of these after market items that promise horse power/torque improvement.

This unit is really nothing more than a billet Turbinator, you remember that sheet metal contraption that put turbine like blades in the intake pipe? It has been proved as junk by so many testers.

This unit promises to impart a vortex to the incoming air charge. The CAI you posted on also, claims it's smooth interior surface cuts down on turbulence. Which is right?

I doubt that there would be any vortex at the valve port after traveling into the air box and then down the long intake tract pipes.

I would guess that this unit would be of some use on a throttle body injection system, but not on our port injection system.

Like you I have no use for the things but there are those that swear by them?

I bought and installed an Airaid TBS on my V6 Dodge Dogoata and it didn't do diddliee squat ..... for power or fuel milage ..... yet all the V6 Dogoata forum people thought that the improvements made by their TBS was astonishing ..... I think it was all in their heads ..... you know, a placebo has been shown to have marvilous results in medical tests ..... and besides, the little bit of turbulance created by the TBS will be negated by the vacuum of the intake manifold immediatly ..... but I too still fall for pretty, shiney snake oil gadgets .....
