Time for exhaust...

Wow this is a pain in the arse!! Replaceing my p.o.s. gibson muffler and tailpipes and going with flowmaster super44 muffler, and I can't seem to get the tailpipes that come with the complete flowmaster kit! I even have the part #'s and had to call flowmaster directly,,,,and now the waitin begins, they actually didn't have pricing for their own products!! So I'm a waitin on an email...anyone want to start guessin on how much of a rip off it'll be? Stay tuned...summit called them for pricing and they would'nt sell it to them directly only to the customer...3 pcs of pre bent pipe thats it...this can't be a good sign.

Can your exhaust shop make the components for you?

Yep, I just oredered flowmasters 40 series and the shop that did my Xterras exhaust is gonna bend the pipes and install it...hopefully i can get a sound bite and post it when its done, they talked me out of the super 44 flowmaster saying that it was too loud and since I live in a condo association I guess I'll show a little compassion even though my motto still is...if its too loud you're too old.

Those 44 Flowmasters are loud and produce a noticable drone at highway speeds. Not sure about the 40 series so let us know.

If you do any long highway driving, even your young ears will suffer the louder cabin noise from loud exhaust. Try an experiment one day. Turn off the stereo, and just listen to the sounds from your Titan. Do it monthly and it will help you to keep track of the mechanical condition of your truck.

One day on a long trip, try wearing ear-plugs for the whole day. You might be surprised to find how much more relaxed and less tired you feel. Noise can really take a toll on your nervous system. That is the reason I never modified my Titan's exhaust. That and my already deteriorating hearing.

Good luck on your conversion and thanks for being kind to us older folks
