| Unless you are experiencing some sort of engine performance issue I suggest you stay with the standard 87/89 octane that is recommended by Nissan. Going to a higher octane is only required if your engine cannot operate well on the standard octane and you experience "pinging" a sign of pre-detonation.
As the octane number goes up, down goes your bang for the buck. Octane additives are added to reduce the tendency to pre-detonate and this is usually only experienced in high-compression engines these days.
At least this is what I've learned over the years; besides, why pay more money for higher octane when you don't need it?
