Radiator cracked?

87,000 miles and i've got a coolant leak that rears its ugly head when i park after a drive. from the looks of it, looks like its coming from the bottom of the radiator. now, from the many threads i've read, sounds like a crack at the bottom of the plastic tank on the half aluminum/half plastic radiator. i will take her into the dealer tomorrow and get the official word as to what it is. i've read/heard of many early titans having to have their radiator replaced due to a crack. interesting as this is the 1st time i've heard of the problem. no wonder many have opted for the stillen all aluminum race radiator for the titan. although i did hear of one guy having his fan blade break off after the stillen radiator (slightly thicker) shifted back and ate the blade. so not only did he lose a blade, but he gashed his stillen radiator. dohhhhh...

chances are no... PRG, dezertrunner and i all looked at it as best as we could. all the hoses were dry and the leak looked to be coming from directly underneath the radiator (the plastic part)... such a lame thing for them to utilize plastic in such a thing as a radiator. anyhow, both greg and dezertrunner had exactly the same leak and both of them had their radiators replaced. oh well, less than 12 hours away from founding out exactly what it might be.

yup, phew! thank the nissan gods i got the 100k warranty, but gettin' close to expired... LOL

got the radiator replaced today. new one is in! plastic tank at the bottom of the huge radiator had a small crack in it. it was just a matter of time before that crack became a huge gash and drained like a stuck pig. so new radiator, new radiator cap, fluids and all, all covered under the 100k extended warranty plan. guess i'll start researching for an aftermarket upgrade alternative radiator that is NOT a stillen that utilizes all metal and 0 plastic.

2x Demond? you serious? is it the extreme dezert heat you expose the beast to year round?

NO... i googled titan radiator and there's a shatload of other disgruntled titan owners PI$$ED off about their radiator cracking... i never EVEN knew the radiator had problems till saturday. hadn't the slightest clue squid, like you perhaps. then i mention it and start researching it and i was blown away at the number of people with the same exact problem. and just reading Demond's post, hell he's on his third in a span of what? 4 years??? LOL... plastic and very hot liquid should not be mixed... haha

well, off to the nissan dealership in my nissan rogue warranty rental...
not exactly eye candy in my opinion but daamn is it a very nice car ergonomically and quick/fun as hell to drive!!!

dayumm!!! well apparently there's 2 HUGE rows in our radiators and each one is separately replaceable. the 3rd row is the transmission radiator. well the 2nd row radiator was the one replaced. demond, my guess is that one row on your radiator failed, then the other row failed later. can be my only guess.
