Pro 4X

2008.5 Pro 4X extended cap sticker lists mpg as 12/17 and that's the only thing I don't like about this truck. Would like to know if any owners are doing better than this?

you just bought the baddest fuc king half-ton out there right now, with a HUGE V8 under the hood, at a time where the biggest economic issue facing the country and household is an energy crisis/fuel prices ........ you're not gonna get much better than the stated MPG so just enjoy that truck!

I LOVE THE PRO4X!

OH and welcome to TTZ!

I have a 2008 Pro-4x and get about 14-15 mpg in the city, not much better on the highway. Love this truck and would not trade it for anything, a great buy!

El Mamito, I can't answer your question. About better gas mileage all you can do is maintain tire pressure, easy on the gas (big engine=big appetite) and easy on the brakes. All pretty standard economy practices.

Drive smoothly, no quick changes in speed will result in best gas mileage.

There have been claims of increased mileage from one or other of the Chip/Tuners on the market. Understand that this will only be achieved by changes to the "system" that will also either change shift patterns or performance.

It isn't possible in my experience to reduce gas consumption AND increase performance. The possible exception would be if your vehicle was in a horrible state of tune, then you would notice improvements.

Good luck.
