Everyone has enjoyed the "Gee Whiz" of this video. What has gone on behind the scenes is years and years of machining experience by the folks who programmed it to make that block.

If you plan to start a machine shop, you will need experienced machinists to set-up and run the machines. Not all work can reasonably be handled by CNC machines. Some manual machines will always have a place.

First develop your product line, become expert in it and then branch out to greater complexity and variety.

Years ago, I thought about it but decided that attempting to establish a new shop in the current environment would be extremely difficult. So many machine jobs have been outsourced for lower labor costs that you would need a real niche to survive.

So you buy the machine and build throttle body spacers and billet shifter knobs for a while. Then you step up to super chargers. And then you graduate to aluminum engine blocks. How long would that take?

Oh I imagine a smart person could make the transition in 10 or 15 years. Of course you'd need a lot larger product line to pay the monthly interest on the machine loan.
