| Auto Show Observation... I attended the Seattle Auto Show last Friday. I noticed on the Nissan Titan display how the VVT has changed the engine configuration.
On the passenger side bank of cylinders there are several connectors that are incorporated into the front engine cover.
Stillen, in making their Supercharger mount, made a new cover to support the SC's drive shaft. It sure won't fit on these later model Titan engines unless they redesign the cover as a minimum.
With the VVT, I wonder how that affects the SC and the Piggy-back electronics they developed?
Just an observation.
Another observation deals with the Tundra. It appeared to me, that the arrangement of the various boxes, pipes, hoses and the like on the Tundra are neater and seem more tidy than the arrangement and placement of similar systems on the Titan.
Just an observation.
Still another observation, the Utili-Traks on the Titan, are for sure the most robust of the four different systems I saw on PUs there. The Tundra, while effective, had a much lighter weight system. The Tacoma was even lighter duty. The system on the Silverado was interesting. The side rails were anodized aluminum and had two rails. One upper and one lower in the same extrusion. The sliding attachments could fit on either of the rails and was located in place by a spring loaded pin. No attempt to provide a "stopper" at the tailgate end on the rails so someone could easily steal the attachments.
Now I know you can steal the attachments for the Titan, but you can't just slide it off the end. And the Titan has the only rails mounted on the bed floor.
Just an observation.
