Exclamation Missing A Motor Mount Bolt?

While changing the engine oil and filter I was inspecting under the engine and found the left engine motor mount bolt was missing!!!.....
Dealer/SM replaced it at no cost of course!
The front left/right engine motor mounts have one bolt each and unfortunately they are screwed up from the bottom so they can drop out easy!!.
37K on my Titan and I don't know when the bolt droppped out.
Not how I'd design it but just a heads up and easy to inspect!

Funny you should mention this because the other day when I was putting in my Hids..........oops, I mean my Silver stars. I discovered that the the fender brace on the drivers side was missing both bolts and probably has been since it came off the line. Luckily I had two that fit so no worries.

The SM just did it the same way!........there is a welded nut on top of the motor mount the bolt goes into and I would add a second nut but they didn't!
I wonder why they didn't manufacture and weld the nut on the bottom of the mount so the bolt would have to "lift-up" ...
which would be safer than the way it is now?....I guess it would be harder to get to!!!

Any way,

I have to admit that I've never seen a motor mount bolt that was installed up side down and anyone who's worked on V8's Knows just have much they move when you floor them so this seems ridiculous. Now I have to go out and inspect mine tomorrow.

We need to invest in a large paint can shaker. Mount all Titans on it and see what rattles and what falls off.

Say do this yearly.

Sounds good at least it would be controlled and unlike my mystery part we could hook up a bunch a cameras so we could see where all the stuff comes from.

I still love this truck...............like my younger brother use to say whenever he got done putting something he tore apart back together, "looks like I got myself some spare parts." HAHAHA
