HELP! Replacing IPDM (Intelligent Power Distribution Module)

Has anyone replaced a IPDM on a Titan. I have a 2005 SE. What are the pros/cons of doing it myself. This has been frustrating to say the least. My Titan starting stalling on Friday. The first indication of a problem was Thursday evening driving home from work. I was accelerating on to the interstate and felt a very short (the best way I can describe) miss. Almost like loss of fuel, bad gas, etc... made it home with no other indications or problems. The next morning it fired and ran perfect. Now here's the good stuff, I left work for lunch and it stalled as I went into reverse. It fired right up and off I went. Ate lunch, left to go back to work and the same thing happened. Got back to work and turned the ignition on and off a few times and no problems. Left work and barely made it home. After fighting the trouble solutions I took it up to my brothers shop b/c he has a diagnostic machine and no codes were present. I finally broke down and took it to the dealer. Turns out to be the IPDM. Service Advisors are great...Keep in mind I was told my problem was the IPDM. He said I needed an oil change, induction service, tires rotated, blah..blah..blah. Grand total for his recommendations $1,244.96. Needless to say the IPDM service is $405.00. I asked if I could just buy the IPDM and do it myself. Fifteen minutes later the part turns out to cost $172.00 and takes a few minutes to change out. With all this said has anyone had hands on experience with changing the IPDM. Thanks in advance!

I haven't heard of anyone needing to change this module out. As it is an electronics module, it might be wise to have them change it. That way if it isn't the cure, you might get some or all of your money back. Also, if it blows on install, they can't blame it on the owner

Isn't the name of the thing an oxymoron, have seen very few intelligent things under the hood, or behind the wheel for that matter.
