I finally got my permit for new electrical service. Yesterday I tried to buy the direct burial wire I need, but the wholesale place has to order it. 3/0 copper wire is $4.50/ft and 250 RCM aluminum is $1.30ft, so I ordered 200' of the aluminum.
I also just painted my 1800 sq.ft. of my shops concrete floor. I used H&C silicone acrylic paint. I used 18 gallons for 4 coats. The 4th coat I put H&C shark grip in the paint. This gives the floor a textured feel so that is more or less non-slip.
Before painting I used 3 gallons of muriatic acid on the floor to roughen up the concrete a little so the paint would stick better.
I think it came out pretty good. Now I won't have stains from oil etc.
Once I get the electrical and the water in, I can start on the interior. The first thing is to get the air plumbed. Then I will build a 14'x14' climate controlled room. This will allow me to store leather tack and tools etc. that don't like a moist environment, can't have my prize burdizzo's getting rusty. I like lots of light, interior and exterior, so I plan on having at least 5000 watts of lights. I don't like fluorescent lights so I will go with something else.
Hopefully in a year or so I will be done.
