In your previous post you mentioned you hooked up a factory Class IV hitch. Did you install the fuses and relays? If your hitch was new from the dealer parts department, it should have included those components. If I recall, the power goes thru the brake controller. For a beak-away, the trailer should have it's own independent battery power source.
